This program was written for beginning readers and writers. Simply, it displays a text that the student has to work on, plucks words out at random and asks the student to pick the missing word from a group at the bottom of the screen.
It allows a teacher and student to write and save a text, which can then also be used in the programs "Practise Your Spelling, Reading and Jumble". The student becomes very familiar with the text and confidence improves.
Teachers and tutors can easily add exercises, which may be contained within the program or saved as external texts. They should be written from within the program ideally, though SimpleText or TeachText will write the basic data.
You should have the (free) stack "PYS Sounds" in the same folder as this program to use a number of congratulatory noises and other goodies.
The program needs the "HyperCard Player" that comes free with every Macintosh. It will run on the oldest MacPlus and has been tested on a Performa 6200 Power Mac without any problems. Let me know, please, if you have any.
